It's a great album, just hard to follow up Complex Simplicity since that album has stood the test of time

Yeah Complex Simplicity was one of the 2000s best r&b albums.

Well worth the wait. don't know it it tops or matches her debut.
9,99 well spend tho.

Skin Diver would've been such a smash for someone a little more mainstream.
Teedra should start penning hits (Dip It low, Here We Go [again] etc.) again.
Her harmonies are what's missing in R&B.

Solid top 5. I would replace R U Scared with Only U, just because I'm in the mood for the track. hahah

It was pretty obvious that she wouldn't be able to top Complex Simplicity, but I'm totally fine with it. The album is great, the production is great, and to think that she's not getting a huge support or budget for it is amazing. I don't think the interludes (except for Sound Off) or International Playboi (really, Teedra?) were necessary.

Her debut is an all time classic so I'm not expecting it to compare but I can't wait to finally hear this

Idk about this.
I mean obviously Complex Simplicity is unassailable, probs like one of the ten best albums ever. So it would be silly to expect anything close. The production was so opulent and the melodies so purposeful, whereas this is much more unassuming and laidback. Could see it being a grower, I guess!

I feel Rozay adds nothing to the title track other than the epic opening (which is where he should have exit stage left on the song). He serves his purpose on "All I Ever Wanted" tho.

That's the vibe she was going for here.
CS is far superior, but there are really no bad tracks on this album either.

She mentioned in an interview that competing with the insurmountably high standard of Complex Simplicity is one of the many things that kept her from releasing a new album. She stifled herself with that, IMO. Now that this is here, she can finally move on and grow. I'm disappointed there are no Paul Poli or Raphael Saadiq tracks.

Really into this now. Pure viiiiibes.
