Cab Driver to pay $25k for refusing service to Blk family

After exiting Penn Station, they walked to 35th Street and Seventh Avenue to grab a cab near Macy’s.
Jordan’s daughter, Chiley Holder, spotted Raza pull his taxi over and allow a passenger to exit.
His on-duty roof light was on, but Raza locked the door when Holder tried to open it, according to the decision. He told her that he was taking a break and switched on his off-duty light.
Raza then drove 25 feet and picked up two white women, the decision says.
“Upon seeing what was transpiring, Ms. Jordan ran up to the cab and exclaimed, ‘Are you kidding me? You picked up these two … white bitches … instead of me and my family. I’m gonna report you,” Judge Kramer wrote in his decision.
Jordan said Raza wasn't fazed by her threat to call the city Taxi and Limousine Commission.
“He said, ‘Yeah, go ahead and report me,’” Jordan recalled.
At the urging of Holder, who works for the city’s 311 system, Jordan filed a complaint with TLC and the Human Rights Commission.

Also, I'm really embarrassed about the fact that "Raza" is an Arabic name.

"White bitches" is all I need to know about this woman's mind set. She should be fired from her job. If a man said, "black bitches" and was an executive at her firm he would be fired.
The cab driver should be fined, but 25k is way to much, that is an average years salary. How is making this guy homeless going to teach him a lesson? How is he even going to pay it?

That's a taxi driver's average yearly salary in the US before taxes, and I don't think he deserves to have his entire one-year salary taken from him for what he did.

He should've thought about that before he exposed his disgusting racist ass. $25k is not nearly enough to cover the cost of the mental anguish he caused that woman and her family. Not to mention her children who will probably remember this instance of blatant racism their entire lives. No child should have to grow up believing that they can't even PAY A DAMN TAXI SERVICE to drive them a few miles simply because of the color of their skin. That's how self-hate is bred and he should have to pay for adding more of this type of mess into our society.  It's even worse that this is coming from another minority who should be sympathetic to the concept of racism. He deserves to pay every cent and more. I bet he'll race to pick up the next black family he sees on the street to get those coins now that he has another year's salary to pay in damages.

Bet that ****ing cab driver should have thought twice before he decided to do what he did.I would be mad as hell too if he decided to lock his doors, say he was going on break, turn off his 'for hire' light only to procced to another customer within eyeshot.I don't really feel bad that this man has to essentially lose 1 year's salary worth of money because he decided to be an ass.
