i remember some of her fans saying it flopped because of the word "pissin" lmao, it was just not single material (and it was pretty bad tbh) + radio hates her.

I don't think that country fans are looking for preachy equality anthems, unfortunately.
So that's why this feels like a great choice.

I remember when I went to Nashville last summer and expected to hear her music on the radio. I was so naive.

But honestly I love/hate her status in country music rn. She's the critical darling and a lot of pop fans love her but radio basically refuses to acknowledge her. I mean her album did decent and all, but I wish she had single success as well.

Country music is like so redneck, Kacey is such an incredible talent, the song is great but she won't get airplay because she doesn't fit their mold of what a woman should be or sing what they think women should - it's weird tho because back in the 90s Shania Twain had enormous hits with song that were explicitly feminist.

Hope it does well, but tbh, she's just too country for country radio.

Her music is real, honest and has mainly traditional real country production which is the complete opposite of what Country radio is playing. If she wrote a song about dirt roads, tailgates, drinking beer and being redneck crazy and have a generic rock/hip hop leaning production with flourishes of banjo she may have a chance at having a hit single

Let's hope her record label gets behind this song and gets Kacey some decent promo and get those stations to play Dime Store Cowgirl.
