Trade publication Variety is reporting that Janet is slated to perform at an August 29 tribute concert to Michael Jackson, which will be held at the O2 Arena in London.

Previously, several gossip columns had reported that AEG was attempting to get Janet to perform at a tribute show.
There has been no official confirmation by AEG or anybody representing Janet about whether she has actually agreed to perform at a potential tribute concert.

I can't wait. I hope it's amazing. She wouldn't do anything less than perfection for her brother, and the fact that JT will be performing (with her?) is shocking and perhaps awesome.
I hate to say it but I don't buy this, she just started fimiling why did I get married too, and I would be surrpised jt would perticipate, he acordiing to gossip was suppose to perfom at the bet awards, than the memorial and nothing , and now this? so I'll wait.

Yeah, it hasn't been "officially" confirmed, so I'm going to wait too. I'd love it and I think it would be very fitting, but I don't have my hopes really high yet.

+ The title and the article are disconnected. It doesn't say she will. It also says "potential". I must've missed that they were doing this cause I've heard nothing about a tribute concert besides rumors. It'd be cool though.

Janet Jackson is not planning on performing at the Michael Jackson tribute concerts planned for London's O2 arena Aug. 29 and 30.
A rep for Jackson called any rumors that she'd be there "false." This comes as a surprise to some of those involved in the planning of the tribute. "Over the weekend there was talk of Janet being the surprise opening act," said one person inside the tour.
Not participating in the tribute feels strange at first blush, since plans are in place for Janet's brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon to participate. A family friend says that her decision is proof that Janet is able to separate her life from her brothers'.
"Janet has plenty going on as it is - she's filming a movie ("Why Did I Get Married Too," in Atlanta) and she's involved in Michael's kids' lives. These concerts are not about her and she respects that," said a family friend. "She's always been independent."
I'd love it and I think it would be very fitting, but I don't have my hopes really high yet.
