It was all pretty uneventful to be honest. My friends didn't care and my family was fairly chill about it too.

The only messy story I can entertain you with really is that there was a guy at school that seemed very closet cased and I took a dare to see if I could get him to come out to me... and I did in a dumb teenage mean way. Probably one of the most terrible things I've done to someone and I constantly regret it.

There's no need to come out, personally. It sets things backwards more than anything, because it still gives people the mind set that being "gay" is something that needs to be specially announced rather than just accepting the fact it's as normal as anything and that you don't need to "come out" from anywhere.

Okay but really the first time you mention being gay to anyone, that's technically coming out. The term "coming out" doesn't only mean sitting someone down and having a discussion with them.

And also that's nice for people who can afford to do that but sometimes you can't just casually remark on being gay to someone because it's not safe.

I came out to my mother crying. She was always religious and very against homossexuality. I always heard her speak awful things about the LGBT community and she accepted me on the spot.

My brother just told me: "Ok, hey you really should watch this show on TV, it's really good".

Sometimes the love for your loved ones is stronger than religion, but I don't know how your parents are going to act.

The more you come out, the easier it will be. I came out to a friend last night and it was totally natural. I have a handful of friends that accept me/could care less what my sexuality is. It's a great feeling.

I agree about not having to come out though. It shouldn't be anyone's business who you are attracted to.
