IDK...Aretha used to do "cover" albums every now and then...they were moderately successful.
Depends on what the covers were, and how they were retooled...I could see Leona doing a dance covers album.
Tracklist:
1. Groove Is In The Heart ft 2 Chains - "Deee-Lite"
2. Keep It Coming Love - "KC & The Sunshine Band"
3. Magic - "Olivia Newton John"
4. You Keep Me Hanging On - "1985 Kim Wilde version"
5. I Feel Love - "Donna Summer"
6. Rhythm of the Night - "Corona"
7. Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless) - "Crystal Waters"
8. What Is Love? - "Haddaway"
9. I'm Too Sexy - "Right Said Fred"
10. Don't You Want Me? ft Sam Smith - "Human League"
11. Let the Music Play - "Shannon"
12. Rapture ft Azealia Banks - "Blondie"
Leona's image is so stodgy.

A dance covers album would greatly help defuse that image, imo.
