Perched in yet another Taylor thread trying to defame her, the obsession is real. Why don't you put all this energy/time into doing something positive rather than pointlessly hating on a person you know absolutely nothing about.
Madonna is a special case I feel. She genuinely has the talent and skill to make music people like, but also to cause controversy and be able to effectively use that to keep and maintain public interest. I think so many pop stars today attempt to capture her model for controversy without using that controversy to make an interesting statement or go go anywhere significant with it besides riding momentary shock value and it quickly gets tiring, exhausting, and predictable.
The males are kind of dominating right now (Ed, Bruno, The Weeknd) without really doing anything controversial and keeping the focus on the music. I think Taylor is so successful partially because she does the same and I like that (and think the GP connects with that more in the long term). My anyway.
This is true. The controversy is contrived. They aren't being truly INNOVATIVE like she was.
