and again, its not even one of her biggest songs. Do we want to compare Britney hits to Umbrella, Only Girl, S&M, Diamonds, Stay, We Found Love etc?

She's not only has a bigger amount of hits, they are bigger. WW, she crushes Britney. Blame radio or whatever, it's a fact.

FFS flopped. If it was a hit, do you actually think her album wouldn't have been pushed back 7 months?!?! It only sold like 3.5 million. Circus by IFPI was confirmed to be 5.5m in 2009 alone. TTWE sold nearly 5m too. And her lesser prime songs (Stronger, Slave, Not a Girl etc.) would have easily sold 3xPlat in the USA alone and she was relevant in Europe with singles so would have easily outsold that cute sales of FFS. Nice try tho.

I'll give to Umbrella, but by Disturbia the digital market was massive. Late 2008. And she has way more bad radio to sales ratio than WMN and Diamonds. What about Only Girl? Rude Boy? Soooo many of her songs get massive airplay but end up with 3-4xPlatinum unlike Katy/Taylor and Gaga.

I don't care about peaks They're misleading. HIAM was #1 lol. FFS was frontloaded, peaked great first few weeks then dropped. It sold like 3.5m ww or something. Circus sold 5.5m in 2009 alone according to IFPI, TTWE is close to 5m. Better hit in America than a few cute European countries.

Oops and Toxic were uber popular songs, and seeing their WW sales. I think it's pretty obviously that they wouldve sold great in the USA. Britney in her prime days has a singles history close to Taylor's. Toxic was #6 on the Hot Digital Tracks of 2004. And 2.2 million is great for that time. It's even more than Crazy in Love by Bey who is like the recurrent queen.

The digital market didn't hit its peak until 2009-2010. Only Girl's sales are fine. You're forgetting the fact that she released so many singles in such a short period of time that they cut into the previous single's chart run. WMN was released one month after Only Girl so they had to literally compete against each other on pop.

And her lackluster digital sales in the US are easily made up worldwide, which is what this thread is about in the first place. Only Girl and Diamonds, despite only selling 3-4m in the US are well over 8m worldwide. Doesn't Britney only have one 8m+ selling single?

FFS clearly was not frontloaded since its ww sales are actually great. The fact that it sold the same amount ww as TTWE in today's market says it all
