1. Comparing it to chickens? I mean we eat the chicken for protein and health, we don't spend $50,000 to lure it out of it's natural habitat, attempt to kill it, fail then try again. PS. Not every animal has the same level of importance. E.G. Killing a mouse and a whale are two different things.
2. This got more media than black people because it's a rare incident, this does not happen very often so it's attraction is greater than something that happens frequently.

I think the reason people keep bringing chickens, pigs, and cows into this is because the ones we eat for lunch and dinner actually went through far worse than the animals that are hunted.
Factory farms are a living hell for animals... and that's where we get almost 90% of our meat from.
[WARNING FOLLOWING TEXT IS GRAPHIC]
-Every male pig is castrated without any pain killers and anesthesia (they literally cut every baby pigs testicles off without any anesthesia because it's expensive... and this is totally legal in the U.S., Canada, Europe)
-Since the pigs are trapped in a small, crammed, cages for the months and months.. the pigs get so miserable and frustrated that they start biting on the walls and cages in a attempt to get out and break free which is why every baby pigs teeth are pulled out without anesthesia too.
-The beaks of chickens are burned off so that they don't peak the cages or each other to death out of frustration of being locked in a crammed battery cage until they are slaughtered.
-To take the feathers off the chickens some employees are lazy as hell so they don't even bother killing the chicken first.. they just throw the chickens in boiling water while they are alive because it's easier than to blow them with a electric gun to their head. (you have to boil them to get the feathers off easier)
-Female cows are stuck in small walls in which they can't even move around much and their udders are attached to machines almost 24/7 to pump milk out. Their udders become swollen from all the pumping but they don't receive pain killers.
-Female pigs are kept in gestation crates (google it)
-The pigs that fall ill or don't grow probably are killed by slamming their head on the ground or by taking a sledge hammer to the head (it's much cheaper than the euthanasia they do for dogs)
(This happens in every major factory farm) There are videos. Even chick-fil-a chicken farms were boiling chicken alive.
