A 20-year-old UNC-Chapel Hill student accused of causing a fiery wrong-way collision that killed three people, including a 6-year-old girl, was released on $1million bond Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities say Chandler Michael Kania was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 in Hillsborough on the morning July 19 when he drunkenly careened into another car.
Killed were 49-year-old Felicia Harris and 46-year-old Darlene McGee, both of Charlotte, and Harris’ granddaughter 6-year-old Janiece Smith, of Brooklyn, New York.
Harris' youngest daughter, 9-year-old Jahnia King, suffered serious injuries but has since been released home.
Kania was charged with three counts of second-degree murder, three counts of felony death by motor vehicle, and one count of felony serious injury by motor vehicle.

Anyways, I really hate this guy. Drunk driving is never acceptable and puts so many people in danger. What an asshole and may the victims rest in peace.
But driving accidents are really sad and he's going to see prison time. Somebody I went to high school with did the same thing and he's serving 15 years in prison and 10 years without a license. He'll be damn near 50 by the time everything goes back to normal.
I saw that the other day on the local news here and my heart just dropped. They interviewed the sister of one of the victims and she was crying asking why he was still alive... SMH. I feel so horrible for that family; I can't even begin to imagine what that must feel like.
People in here more concerned about the thread title than the fact that some entitled drunk asshole killed three people and is now nice and comfy back home under his own roof...
