Where's The Beatles SGT Pepper, Pink Floyd's Dark side of the moon and The Wall? Where's Aretha Franklin's I Never Loved A Man, Joni Mitchell's Blue, Liz Phair's Exile in Guyville, David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, Prince's Dirty Mind, Purple Rain or Sign O'the Times? Where are Tracy Chapman, Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu D'Angelo and Lauryn Hill's debuts? Where is N.W.A.'s Straight Outta Compton, LL Cool J's debut, Public Enemy's debut, Biggie's debut? Why is most of this thread filled with pop crap from the 2000's?

This thread is asking about groundbreaking
releases, as in the verb, not the noun. The putting out of a record/content in a groundbreaking manner, like the visual accompaniment of the fashion, choreography and films associated with the Thriller album. I don't think it's asking about albums considered to be groundbreaking in terms of their genre exploration/perfection/changing - it's more about the method of release than the content itself.
At least that's what I took from the OP when I commented on the previous page...
