3) no matter the context, when you call a woman a bitch, you're specifically referring to her sex/gender. If you call a woman a bitch because she's rude or hateful, you're basically saying "you're extra rude and hateful because you're a woman" and/or "because you're a woman, it's even worse when you're rude."

Which is so unnecessary. Just say she's rude and hateful

it sort of does. Like Latinazza said, it depends on the context. 95% of the time when a woman is called a bitch [by a guy], it's meant to be derogatory. Same goes for a straight person calling a gay man the "f word" or a white person calling a black person the "n-word." Each minority has taken those negative words and turned it into terms of endearment for THEMSELVES. By the way, a woman calling a woman a bitch can be just as terrible.
