I've been through both. While both are scary, the ground shakes for more than 10 seconds some times, AND you don't know it's coming. While tornadoes are harder to predict, they only come when you have severe storms, and they don't wipe out entire cities (usually) just a few blocks. So your odds are slim.

So I definitely have to go with earthquake.

They do form without notice, to an extent. If it's sunny outside with no storms, then your chance of a tornado is like 0%. If a storm is coming through, then yeah, it can be scary at night. But if a tornado kills me in my sleep, then I doubt there would be much fear involved in that. Lol

Oh yeah.. I've also dealt with volcanoes and wildfires too. Lol. Jesus, I didn't realize I was like a tsunami or hurricane away from a natural disaster bingo.

Maybe it's why I'm not that scared of these things. Except tsunamis. Those scare me!

I live in Tornado Alley, tornadoes happen every time of the year here, even when it is winter!! Ive lived in multiple places where tornadoes have destroyed entire towns. Although, earthquakes have potential to destroy an entire state (California), that happens gradually. Tornadoes just come around and **** everything up in its path, all at once. It's tornadoes for me

Large earthquakes can actually last for several minutes, and can trigger tsunami's. Both can't exactly be predicted (although a Tornado you at least get some warning).

My city actually got a real big wake up call, as many assume we don't get Tornado's. One touched down the other day. and nobody knew what to do. We were all very unprepared. They even evacuated buildings (which is NOT what to do in a tornado.)

I've never experienced both, but if I have to choose, I'd rather choose an earthquake. I'd more likely to survive an earthquake than a tornado because I don't have a ****ing car to run from it

this is something that never happens where I live, but I am TERRIFIED of this. Something that destroys everything!! At least when a tornado comes you have remnants of your personal items. With a fire, everything is gone

Seriously? Wow. I guess if there's no taught procedure and you're just winging it stuff like that happens.

We had tornado drills as frequently as fire drills when I was in school.

People literally think tornadoes can't happen here, and it isn't really taught what to do. Hopefully now, people know what to do.
