It wasn't bad, I just thought it was a step in the wrong direction. It left PCs with a cheap port of tablet software and it simply isn't what people are looking for when they use a computer.
Start menu was an integral feature of windows since forever, it should never have been removed. I disliked the start screen because it was ugly and unnecessary. Like, why should I go to a whole different screen to use an application when I can access it from my homescreen? It just seems extra.
I just hate tiles
Like I put so much effort into the start screen and I don't even use it
Yes because it paved way to a completely new image of Windows as an operating system, and thus live tiles were invented. To be honest, the start menu was elegant, only if you're using touch, and on a tablet.
No because it took away a feature that 1 billion people use on a daily basis, so everyone was upset about it, because not only they took it away, to put into the insult, they returned back an icon that does nothing more than bring to the Metro Start interface.
