Well the source says only the 8GB model production is going to be cancelled (and as for now only in Japan). I don't own a WiiU but a friend of mine does and told me the 8GB model was useless as the OS pretty much consumes all capacity, so that could be a reason!
Nintendo is a little obsessed with being the first one on the market with a new console especially if they are incorporating new technology into it. It doesnt surprise me that they are moving on to the next console. The Wii U was more of a re-release of the Wii rather than a new console imo
No one wants it. They already released the big games like Mario Kart and Smash and the GP is saying no. I'm pressed they're giving up on it but it's not going anywhere no matter what. They need to come back with a console that actually matches PS4 and try again.
Good, now they can focus on making a console that actually competes graphically and performance-wise with Sony and Microsoft's offerings. In terms of hardware, Nintendo has been one step behind the others for so long it's not even funny. No wonder their ads target young children and their parents.
The WII U is such a flop, they were blinded by their success with the wii u that they didn't put that much effort in the wii u, they just took the second screen from the DS and put it on the Wii U controller
They have been really silent when it comes to the Wii U lately, which is weird considering how hard they pushed Mario Kart, Sm4sh, and the corresponding DLC. Hopefully they've listened to consumers and have made the NX up to par graphically and matched the power of the PS4 and Xbox One.
Sega Dreamcast:
Hardware: 10,600,000
Software: Idk
Wii U:
Hardware: 9,540,000
Software: 56,680,000
3DS:
Hardware: 52,060,000
Software: 225,660,000
Keep in mind that those Nintendo numbers are from May 7th, 2015. While the Wii U might be flopping, Nintendo is still on track to be the most successful company this generation and will easily outdo all of your faves.
