that's my favorite Nightmare movie / one of my favorite movies in general
I also add the original Halloween, 28 Days Later, I Saw The Devil (its a form of horror I believe), the original Poltergeist, Carrie, Suspiria, and so many others are great too
I don't consider Alien a horror film so that's why it didn't make my list.
It's a sci-fi thriller to me.
what???? it has every quality and aspect a horror film should have
thrillers are coined as such because of the element of suspense, and films become horror because of violence, gore, and taking advantage of primal fears e.g. the dark, not knowing exactly what is chasing a character or where its at
thrillers are more about the chase rather than the villain, and you can't tell me Alien didn't perfectly take advantage of its viewers' primal fears, had perfectly executed and not over-the-top violence, and was not about the big chap chasing everyone on the nostromo rather than vice versa
the big chap/any form of a xenomorph are horror icons for a reason!

True, I'll give you that! By definition, it IS in fact a horror film.
I just don't consider it a horror film since it never really scared me even when I was 7.
