How did your Tezenis campaign come about?
This is their first campaign and I like being the first for something. I get asked to do a lot of things, but I did this was because I always struggle to find bras that fit. I’m a 34DD when I’m at that time of the month and when I’m not, it’s 34D. I hate big straps and I don’t like padding because I don’t need it. I just want support with no padding and I used Tezenis products and I enjoyed them, and I’m not saying this because I endorse them, but because I wear them. They’re really good. And also, 84 per cent of the company is run by women, so they should know what underwear is about. I really loved how they were as people. I love Italians. The food, the people, their creativity. And I love how they talk.
Did your breasts make you more confident or self-conscious when you were younger?
In the beginning I felt self-conscious. I hated it. Then the hottest guy in class fancied me so I liked it! I was a very early developer, I developed before anyone else and I went to a musical-theatre school, so when we did dance classes, which was every day, it would be in a leotard. We didn’t have a lot to help hide them.
Do you think underwear empowers women?
Yes, I think it empowers us more than it empowers men. I think underwear in general is made more for us than for men. I don’t think they care. I think they like the first impression of a set that’s nice, but for us it just makes us feel like we’ve made an effort.
Do you always wear matching underwear?
Never; the first matching set I had was just because they were both black. But now that I have unlimited amounts of free underwear, I’m matching it.
