Arrested for what? This is America. Freedom of speech. The Supreme Court already ruled on this in Snyder v. Phelps.

The charges will probably be called "disturbing the peace" on the forms.

They will probably use some other legal maneuver to get around it. Or they will arrest them and let them take it up with the SCOTUS afterwards...at which point it wouldn't matter anymore. There are limits if the speech is seen as in sighting someone to violence then all bets are off.

The Phelps family has already won one Supreme Court case, and as sick as they are, they are within their constitutional rights as long as they file all the correct permits for protest

I highly doubt that is the case and you are sad for bring it up to be honest.

With that said, I don't think he has the right to do it, but like others are saying he might bite the bullet and do it anyway and pay for it later.

I don't agree with Bobby Jindal politically, and wouldn't vote for him as president but I do agree that Fred Phelps and his homophobic, racist EXCUSE of a congregation (which tbh mostly consists of his own kin) would go somewhere FAR away.Of course the Phelps' are going to try to sue.

Funerals are not the place for it. Tensions are high and people are on the edge mentally. It can set the stage for a dangerous confrontation. Free speech is a right so long as it doesnt set the stage for a dangerous situation for all involved.

Believe me, as someone who lived in Louisiana for 17 years, it most certainly is the case. Bobby Jindal does what is best for Bobby Jindal, and no one else.

Even if it is it won't help him. He will make the families happy but risk a law suit. This isn't an action that is going to galvanize the country towards Bobby. He ended his presidential career years ago with that horrid speech after the State of the Union address... Just thinking about it give me chills.

If this were true they could shut down pretty much any protest and the occupy movement would certainly have been seen as a dangerous situation.

Residents should just throw **** at them until they leave instead of violating the constitution.
