It's extremely easy to lose relevance in Hollywood because there are new people, often better than you, who come in every day.

The fact that her biggest success was a supporting role contributed to that I guess. She's still done pretty fine for herself.

I think she is more focused on films that present more of an acting challenge. She's already served on major films like Interview with a Vampire, Bring It On, Jumanji. A lot of her roles after SP3 have been less blockbuster focused and more acting focused. It might mean she's more obscure but I think it's good that she's expanding her range.

despite all flopping, many of those had huge critical claim, especially melancholia and the two faces of january.

anyway, she's not terribly great at acting, so she wasn't going to have longevity/mainstream popularity into her late 30s, so she passed the ingenue age and now makes acclaimed indie films; not necessarily a bad thing.

She's not a good actress for one. But outside of Spider-Man she's only known for bring it on ...

Jessica Chastain replaced her

She is probably more focused on the scripts rather than the success. She's already made a name for herself. I'm sure she wants a challenge and is more picky with her roles nowadays.

+ She just joined as a regular on Fargo. Which is an Emmy, Golden Globe and Peabody winner.

She's unlikable and probably difficult to work with. Which is too bad because she was GREAT in Interview with the Vampire (ie she showed promise even as a child).

She's always been a lesser Reese Witherspoon anyway.

Kirsten was flopping for years before Jessica Chastain's breakout in 2011.

Seems to me she's not going for blockbusters anymore.

She had rave reviews for Melancholia, by the way.

And tbqfh she isn't that pretty or attractive.

She didn't destroy her career. She's an amazing actress who deserves to do things her own way, as an adult, and explore a less commercial direction, after working in the mainstream almost all of her life.

Her best movies: "Interview With A Vampire", "Dick", "Little Women", "Virgin Suicides", "Drop Dead Gorgeous", "Crazy Beautiful", "Bring It On", "Elizabethtown", "Marie Antoinette" & "Melancholia".

Nothing destroyed her career, she just decided to take on more challenging roles. I thought she was amazing in spiderman and let's not forget her role in small soldiers
