You Belong With Me is much more lyrically vibrant than "Girlfriend."
I've always loved You Belong With Me, because even though she plays up her role as the boyish, relatable girl in the song, in the context of her discography it's pretty obvious that she's not that girl, that the song is an idealization, because she never seems to understand the men she's pursuing. She's always dreaming or fooling herself into believing she's the girl for "him," but more often than not, she's the girl "upset, going off about something" that some guy has said. The whole song is a lie, just another fairy-tale of hers. She's not perfect for that guy, and he probably didn't notice how "close" they were.
Whatever it is, YBWM's video was clearly inspired by Girlfriend's iconic record-breaking video.
The Kats trying to jump on Sazare's coat tails right now. Embarrassing. I don't want anyone with a Mattel® version of a blowup doll as a fave trying to come for anyone.
I started the TD influence topic and the Avril/Taylor topic, so shut up.
Obviously not trying to imply they're the same song (Demi has too much artistic integrity). It just sort of gives an interesting sense of continuity in Max's repertoire.

I did. I've posted various comments (mostly negative) on other songs from the albums elsewhere on here. Feel free to look for them if you'd like!
"["Blank Space"] possesses a generic sugar-with-a-touch-of-spice vibe and bears passing musical resemblance to both Ashlee Simpson’s “Pieces of Me” and Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated”." http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/2310...orena-bobbitt/
"For 1989's smash single ["Shake It Off"], Taylor Swift drew inspiration from many sources. The beat and ra-ra attitude sound is nearly identical to Avril Lavigne's "The Best Damn Thing." http://mic.com/articles/121460/14-re...-the-same-song
"Swift’s new song has a very Avril sound to it — relying on catchy pop hooks and gimmicks (like spoken-word sections and a crowd-pleasing “Whee!” exclamation) as opposed to Swift’s usual lyrical depth and country twang." http://zap2it.com/2012/08/taylor-swi...o-is-it-about/
Are these sources supposed to be reputable?
It looks like a list of unintelligent "critics" who don't know much about music.

Ooh, this time, I hear it, which is why I'm shocked at everything else you're saying about Taylor, cuz unlike that, this one's actually true.

You've had Taylor for a hot minute in your sig and you can't seem to stop complaining about the kats meanwhile you never see us complaining about the monsters here, let alone the swifties. It's time you developed some thicker skin.
OT: I hate sweet, perfect love pop songs. Enough with them already.
I'm shocked. It sounded like a total flop when it came out. Who knew there'd be a niche for such experimental trance-house fusion?
Does anyone else hear the part of the chorus that has the same weird instrumental sound as part of Cool for the Summer? It's sort of an interesting bit for Max and Ali Payami to recycle because it only plays for a second.
Lol please. Anyone hearing that song knew it was a smash waiting to happen, the only reason it hasn't already is because Adam Lambert is unknown to most and dismissed for his sexuality by the rest. Glad to see the merits of a good song can still carry it. Deep house pop is coming. "How Deep Is Your Love" will be next.

I've had Taylor in my sig for about as long as you've been a member, but ok. Thing is, it's getting really irritating. Katy never wins, so idk why you guys keep trying. It's embarrassing, especially since y'all decided to leap on her after this Nicki drama because she waited until it was safe to idiotically type out some illiterate tweet to try and clock Taylor. I mean, we're all well aware that Taylor is making money off of a song about Katy and her DEMISE, but you don't have to be so bitter about it to the point where you all would take Nicki's side, and are STILL trying Taylor.
Brad Shoup: “You love the game!” she shouts, and besides being the least-masqueraded line here, it’s the truest. Folks are forgetting the “Shake It Off” video, New Yorkers are forgetting “Welcome to New York.” It’s just nice to have something everyone can talk about, y’know? Even if it contains an Avril song written by Sia. The refrain takes the long way to the takeaway, the spoken lines are ham cubes — it’s a singer/songwriter’s idea of a pop song, with all the care lavished on the zingers and none on the hooks.

"Avril songs written by Sia ... with none of the hooks" What kind of perfect description for Taylor's entire discog to date?

Really? I remember when it came out no one thought would be a hit. Even Kworb didn't think so. It sounds like something that'd take off in the UK and absolutely nowhere else.
