Katy's next album is being worked on, we know it's coming "by 2016". As much as we like to delude ourselves into thinking otherwise, we all know she's gonna **** out another half-arsed album with a bunch of generic pop tunes "written" over pre-produced Dr. Luke beats which will be completely recorded from start to finish in two months or less which will probably produce several radio smashes but will be panned by critics and she'll cry about it when she doesn't get any Grammy wins again.
Complete reinvention is the only thing that can save her - new producers and new stylists while staying in her pop lane so that she could still serve bops would do wonders for her.
I'm iffy on the whole reinvention thing tbh. What she has is working, for the most part. She just needs to tweak things, not reinvent entirely. We all know there were more smashes on PRISM than what the actual chart success represents. LL, WoA, B, TIHWD... could have all been Top 10 with the right timing, promo (and MVs).
Doing something completely different could really backfire in a very bad way, but I guess she's already had so much success it wouldn't hurt to try. She could always pull a Rihanna (circa Rated R era) and try the edgy/risky angle at first and if it doesn't work pull a "Rude Boy".

You do realise that this was almost certainly entirely produced by Cirkut, right? Dr. Luke just slaps his names on Cirkut productions because he "made" him and wants to bank off his success. Luke is way past his prime. The differences in his productions from 2010 to 2012-13 are really noticeable. I feel like Luke mainly just samples/reworks things from his older songs these days and is heavily reliant on Henry to bring the new ideas to the table.
