Big Brother' recap: Empirical eviction

Was ousted Audrey Middleton, once the most promising and buzzed-about Big Brother houseguest this season, the anvil or the hammer? Or both?
That is the transcendent question.
In his essay, Politics and the English Language, 1984 author George Orwell, who ironically inspired the reality-TV series Big Brother, played on Goethe’s metaphor by stating, “In real life it is always the anvil that breaks the hammer.”
I like to think Audrey was both the anvil and the hammer.
Which is why, in the end, the 25-year-old Georgia native’s bipolar game play shattered, ending her unique and entertaining Big Brother life.
the first transgender contestant in Big Brother USA history was evicted in the most anticipated live eviction since Aaryn Gries got the boot in BB15.
And Queen Audrey deserved it.
In fact, everyone fell in love with Audrey right away – the fans and the houseguests.
Which is why I suggest that Audrey’s Big Brother legacy was more profound, impactful and iconic by losing the $500K.
My only gripe is that Audrey unravelled from a glam goddess to a homeless Unabomber in the last week; but hey, it made her even that more compelling to watch because it was so metaphorical and emblematic.
It was bittersweet watching Audrey’s montage package because it reminded viewers how she went from the smart, popular girl in the house to the ugly pariah she became.
