The server... a bath... a large meal... ran out of toily paper... what next? He just doesn't want to give "Landslide" the top three ranking that it deserves

I guess we'll have to wait another fortnight to see Heart of Gas being thrown in the rubbish bin.
When you think of '80s hard rock power ballads, you probably think of "Alone". A #1 in the US, "Alone" was taken from the band's 1987 album, Bad Animals. While typically associated with the band (personally, I would consider it their signature hit), it was actually a cover version of a song that appeared in 1983 on the album released by the side-project of the original writers (Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, who also wrote "Like A Virgin"!), before being recorded in 1984 by John Stamos and Valerie Stevenson for the Dreams soundtrack. Finally, in 1987, it was recorded by Heart.
We have been subjected to numerous covers of the song over the years, from artists such as Céline Dion (whose cover is one of the most famous versions). It's also a talent show staple, despite its cheddar levels.
