I won't judge because I recently quit but the smoking damaged my lungs and I will never get better from that. Unless they come up with something to fix it, but nothing exists today. Now I'm not totally f'ed up but I had my lungs checked and did a PFT test and there is a bit of damage and reduced function. If I had not stopped in 10-15 years the damage would have been terrible the Dr. said I would definitely have COPD to the extent where I would need oxygen in my 60's.
I used to joke with my doctor, she would say. "smoking is slowing killing you," and I would respond, "that's okay I'm not in any hurry." Coming from a former smoker it is, slowing kill you.
