The VMAs usually only have one frontline black woman artist, and that is usually Beyonce, who could release a video of Blue burping and they would give it 10 nods.
The rest of black artists, such as Rihanna and Nicki, are left with scraps. Is VMA racist? Is Nicki right?
First, Taylor was nominated because her video featured thin women. After Taylor called her out for attacking another woman, suddenly Nicki was only snubbed because she's black. See the issue? Not to mention that Nicki totally backtracked and started playing victim when she made the first move. Also, Ed Sheeran's video is the only VOTY nominee that doesn't have a minority in it. Nicki's argument makes no sense.
While this is an entirely legitimate issue and I totally support its discussion, please try to keep all VMA discourse in the VMA thread or the Taylor & Nicki thread that's currently killing our server slowly.
