Chart Notes: Brantley is now at the 3 week mark. So, if he gets one more week at number 1, he will have broken the longevity record for my number 1s. Currently, no artist has spent more than 3 weeks at number 1 and Brantley looks like he might do it at this point. Bottoms Up is still collecting plays from both it's original version and its remix. This week, there was more of a delay in updating this chart, but I guess Monday updates will be a thing now (Billboard's impact!). Nothing seems likely to dethrone Brantley at this point. I haven't gotten any new music, won't get anything new, nothing new seems likely to come out, and there really isn't anything threatening (he got more than 2xs the amount of plays as my number 2 for example).

Basically, the late update this week and the weird chart is because of a couple things. First, I put my ipod through the wash and broke it, so I lost my primary means of listening to music; I've since re-appropriated an old iphone to that purpose, but it holds much less music. Also, I hurt my leg this weekend while hiking and brought up an old injury. I've been at home and haven't wanted to come on here since I've been kind of bummed about it. Pretty much, when I first started this chart (1 year ago! Happy anniversary!!!! ) I was recovering after being pretty darn sick for a couple years. I thought I was mostly better, but the reactivated leg injury this week reminded me of everything and Kicked some dust up (pun unintended). I'm feeling better though and on my way to getting back on my leg. So, because of that injury, mostly I've been binging on watching Friends on Netflix; I'm trying to watch through every episode in order, which I have never done. It's always been one of my favorite shows and something I have always wanted to do. Because I've mostly been watching tv, or going anywhere, I haven't listened to much music. So, whatever. Also, I finally decided to incorporate streaming, and MIA, and Vince Staples's songs charting here are to test that out. BOth come from today's plays.

The album chart comes as a result of playing Brantley's album a couple times ARTPOP comes courtesy of the design an EP challenge in Survivor, and the others because I've been getting back into rock and punk recently. The Nothing But Thieves EP has been dominating lately and the feedtime albums are sure to also, as they are a great mix of punk and garage rock. To be honest, I got into NBT because of prezli, and I saw a Gaga thread on here that suggested she might be doing something punk for her next album and that made me want to revisit my rock albums. They will probably do better in the coming weeks and the chart might take a turn toward rock. We'll see. Thanks for the comments! I personally think Miguel shouldn't have compared himself to Frank, but I am kind of team Miguel here. Funny that Miguel's single here is coffee while I've always considered Frank's music (besides Pyramids) to be sleepytime tea I like NBT also, you might like them beyond Trip Switch, they have a more atmospheric darker sound like The Neighbourhood or Catfish I guess even though NBT's music is more mopey; I wouldn't mind if you committed some thievery and stole them! Oh no, Disclosure is working with Sam again? Don't get me wrong, I love Latch (it had me temporatily stanning for Sam) but Sam hasn't quite done it for me since then. But then again, I did love Disclosure and Sam's work for Mary J. Blige's album, so who knows?

And yeah, I've been playing more and more rock and metal recently! It's slowly starting a take-over I'm always open to recommendations!

Chart Notes: Alright. Thanks for the comments everyone. They made my day reading through them right now. Not much happened this last week, it was pretty uneventful actually. It's been surprisingly stormy also (seriously, it never rains in Southern California in the summer and it rained all weekend, pretty heavily too. I can't remember the last time I've heard thunder) so I couldn't do too much even if I wanted to. My legs been better, but there hasn't been much of a chance to do anything There's always this next week I guess.

Mostly, I spent a lot of time on here. Also, Platinum Hit, the game I've helped judge, is coming to an end and it's been a lot of fun hanging out with those guys in the plug.dj before the game ends. The finalists are all great members and contestants and I wish them the best of luck. It's been a pleasure reading their material and I've been pretty inspired to start writing again.

Anyway, I really haven't listened to too much new stuff so, it's all mostly familiar things. I considered leaving the section entirely because it just seems like a lot of my favorite members have been dropping out (which is a bummer, because it's like you spend time talking to them and seeing them around and then they go without a goodbye) and I haven't been listening to much new music lately, but I decided to stay, since YTT and it's members are the best on ATRL and I'll get back into music soon enough. I do have some stuff appearing for the first time, like "All Hands On Deck," and "Pyongyang" by Blur. I've said it before, but it takes a long time for things to get going. Probably the funniest thing, is that Brantley Gilbert unexpectedly dropped a lot and "Dance Like We're Making Love" slipped into the top spot, mostly thanks to the excellent video, which is like "Thinking Out Loud," but good! Anyway, "Bitch Better Have My Money" repeaks at number 2 and we now have a Ci and Rih 1,2 punch. Ciara holds the top spot for now, but Dance... really hasn't clicked so who knows where it will go.

I finally managed to get enough plays on a Blur song and "Pyongyang" makes an appearance here along with the Nothing But Thieves tracks. I also, charted Parquet Courts along with Blur and NBT's albums so rock is making a comeback. Slightly below my top 5 is The Phantom Band, Thee Oh Sees, and Ecstatic Vision, so rock is making a comeback here and I may even getting around to charting a song by one of the groups soon, especially since I've been getting tired of what's out now. So, stay tuned and thanks again for the comments.
