You cannot compare AO's awful production with Stay. Stay is a wonderful ballad promoted.
PIU and BBHMM are two urban singles which did the same. Actually BBHMM did better.

Lies. She had her flops/underperformances. FFS did better than RR. AO did better than Rockstar 101. It's not a new low for her. FFS wasn't as commercial as her previous lead singles were, didn't got the same high budget video and the same promo, yet it was a big WW hit.

That was before the slayage of 2010-13, expectations were much higher for this era. Rockstar 101 was released months after the album, completely different circumstances. Diamonds wasn't that commercial, people were expecting another WFL, WHYB type song, yet it still slayed. Yes FFS was a hit but it didn't live up to Rih's first single standards.

Do you even know what you just wrote? that last sentence could be applied to literally EVERY SINGLE ARTIST that had a downfall, that's the reason why an artist has a downfall, because the songs are not as good as they used to, Applause is not as good as Bad Romance. Living For Love is not as good as Hung Up. #Beautiful is not as good as We Belong Together. Pretty Girls is not as good as Womanizer, etc.
