Janet has returned to the set of Why Did I Get Married Too? to resume filming of the movie, co-star Malik Yoba confirmed yesterday on his online voice blog.
The movie is being filmed in Atlanta, which is where she was on June 25 when the news came that her brother Michael had passed away.
"For those who are curious about the state of Ms. Jackson, all seems well," Yoba says on his blog. "She's here at work, and we've got a couple of serious scenes to shoot today."
Director Tyler Perry had given some interviews following Michael's passing, telling the media that Janet could return to the set whenever she felt ready. "Whenever she comes back to work, she'll have everything she needs," Perry told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution at the end of June.
The film has a tentative release date of April 2, 2010. Janet is reprising her role as Patricia.
I'm shocked she's back this soon. But I'm glad it's an acting role because Michael's passing could be just the muse she needs to put on a breathtaking performance.
Not so surprising.. work can very easily be her therapy, it's much better than sitting at home crying [a thing that is of course understandable and needed, but not for.. not forever]. I am glad to hear she's doing fine.

She is also in the studio with Jimmy & Terry but there is no official info on that--I have no idea of when the album would come out, what it's going to be about (I'm guessing they scrapped it and started over at this point), what label she's going to release it with.
Yeah, whatever. I don't fully blame the label but I don't completely blame her either. I don't think IDJ would drop her because she had to have been among their five biggest artists--Ri, Mimi, Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, and her, in no particular order. So I think she really did walk away.
I loved the first film, it comes on Showtime like 20 times a day LOL. So I'm excited for this one. And SuperShiro said it the best. Her working, especially on a drama, will heal her better. She can put even more emotions she may feel on the film.
I can actually see her experiencing some sort of career revival musically. She needs to throw way whatever she recorded before Michael's death first though.
