Madonna??? out of all the people that have been compared to Madonna this is the first one I'd say LOL without an argument. She's noting like Madonna ever was AT ALL. They are like the opposite of each other... she's like the new hmmmm idk Sheryl Crow or something like that

Madonna was innovative, a bad bitch, fearless, fierce, pushed boundaries, trend setter, provocative, etc, etc. Taylor is the biggest thing on pop music(hell not just pop music in general)atm and no one even come close to her but she's nothing of what made Madonna be the queen of pop.

I've always seen her as the country-pop Mariah Carey of our generation.

Both were massive hitmakers at their peaks & both are very talented but underrated songwriters with a confessional, diary-like lyrical style. Mariah also maintained a safe and inoffensive reputation in her early career which was similar to Taylor's.

I have yet to see Taylor push any boundaries, so I don't concur with that writer.

She sells a lot but her music doesnt have substance or the potential to become influential or game changing. She is the safest, most basic pop girl around right now who simply lacks sheer starpower. Thats why she cant be compared to Madonna.

Celine Dion, unlike most of the "impactful" stars from her generation, is still able to go on tour and sell records. The others can keep the impact while she remains being actually relevant in the real world

Las Vegas residency hasnt made anyone relevant lol, its like a retirement home for music acts. Impact on the other hand will make artists relevant even after they pass away. Thats the real legacy in the real world hunty.

Taylor Swift sells out Back to Back Stadiums. Just recently, she has sold out Chicago's Soldier field two nights in a row. This set the record for a female solo artist, and Madonna has never done that! This is real impact! In fact, after the 1989 tour is over, Taylor will be 2nd over-all in total concert tour revenue only to Madonna, and Madonna has had quite a few more years to achieve this. You people speak of Impact as pushing sexualization. What a bunch of dung. Making music has nothing to do with over-sexualizing. Did Elvis take his clothes off? Did the Beatles? and these were real musicians. (They only cared about their music and not about showing skin)I mean don't equate sexualization with impact, it is not the same thing.

Impact = to making smart business decisions (Taylor does that!)
Impact = Great marketing skills and branding( Taylor does that!)
Impact = influencing the music industry (Taylor does that! though some here don't believe it)
Impact = garnering a great deal of respect from a diverse fan base, old, young, LGBT, etc (Taylor has this respect and diversity that no one currently has!
Impact = having an album that refuses to leave the top ten after 38 weeks and being #1 Artist for almost a year now!
Impact = having great critical acclaim especially with this latest spectacular tour.

Taylor has great impact, and if you don't see it, then you are totally blind! I guarantee you that you will be reading about Taylor in the history books when you are all old and gray and wondering how you didn't believe it years ago.

She doesnt need the Vegas residencies to be relevant, as she's still the third highest grossing female touring act of all time without them
