I've always thought the whole thing was fishy, but attending college and learning about the history of Catholicism and the multitude of evidence in Biology and other sciences that contradict it is just too much.

My family is incredibly devoted, we attend church every weekend and pray some rosaries before bed and its just......tiring.
It feels like it's a waste of time. I currently live with them, moving away to University next month, and I'm quite torn on whether I should ever tell them...

Nope, I've been openly atheist since I was 12. I don't think about it and I don't go around talking about religion, it's just not relevant in my life whatsoever. But if someone asks me, I'll tell them I don't believe in God.

I should tell them that I'm gay and atheist at the same time. That way they won't give me all that crap about how I'm going to hell.

Even though my mom and grandparents are religious I was in church only like 2 times in my entire life just because I was curious how it looks like there.
I am not baptized and not pressured to believe in god or pray or go to church at all, which makes me happy because I am really an atheist.

Same. I guess I'm more agnostic cuz it's really hard to believe that the laws of Physics and Chemistry work so perfectly. There has to be something that causes all of it. Why does gravity exist in the first place, there's just too much without explanation.

And then if you think even deeper, say there is a divine being, who created this being? And who/what created the being that created that.

Is there a beginning of time? There can't be because there's always a period that exists before it, even if nothing is happening.

This is the way I am. I don't have a set belief, but I believe there's too much that we don't understand and that is beyond scientific explanation to completely dismiss everything spiritual as false, either.

I'm not one of those that feels all religion is evil and serves no good -- quite the contrary, actually in spite of the bad things people relate with religion.

IDK I guess that makes me closer to agnostic, but not really since I'm not a doubter. I do believe that there is something at work beyond the corporeal, I am just not a follower of any particular belief system as I feel like there's just too much that we don't know to declare myself a follower of x/y/z religion and have complete and unwaivering faith in something I feel that we essentially know nothing about.

Me personally, I can't really say I am a religious person tbqh.Like others, I do believe God exists, but I'm not necessarily a fan of church, I don't get anything from it.To say I'm an atheist would be me lying to myself as well.I do get some pressure to go to church but I'm not necessarily losing sleep over it.Not everyone wants to be converted tbh.

God, by definition, is the "Uncreated One." If He was created, or if He had a beginning, whoever or whatever created Him would be considered the real God not Him. Then one would have to ask who created that God that created that God and so on. At some point we have to end at an eternal being that did not have a beginning and that is who we call God. God is supposed to be the end of the infinite chain of causes so nothing created Him. He simply exists. If people have a problem believing that someone or something could always exist without having a beginning, then God makes even more sense because if you don't believe that He existed forever, then you are left having to believe that the material universe just existed forever and had no beginning which is exactly what the now-obsolete Steady State theory is about. There is either God or an "Uncaused Cause," or you are left with infinite regression of causes which is absurd.

It's difficult because my Dad and sister both became very religious over the past few years. I don't say anything to them about it for all of our sakes.

Recently I stopped going to church and bible study with them. They sometimes ask me to come along, but I always make up some excuse why I can't.
