Prof X along with Mystique and the other helpers probably help them see the error of their ways and they wind up all using their powers to fight Apocalypse.

I re-watched DOFP for the first time in months with Rogue Cut because I wanted it to be a little fresh after seeing it a bunch of times before, and I realized what some people weren't happy about. There really is no big fight scene, unless you count the future sentinels, and that takes the entire movie to build up to. In the past it's a bit anti-climactic - sure the Mangeto stadium thing is cool and controlling the sentinels, but Charles is buried under a beam, and it's just Beast fumbling around with a sentinel he can't kill and Logan who can't really do any damage to Magneto even without his metal skeleton.

Apocalypse better serve all out war with the X-Men. I want a fight like in the animated series where it jumps between characters fighting off the horsemen (and other villains if necessary) and the amazing music plays in the background.

The way they've described it is "persuasian." In the comic and original animated series, Apocalypse promises mutants that he can help them by stunting their powers or making them human, but his machine brainwashes them into becoming his army basically. I think because X3 dealt with a "cure" storyline they're going for a storyline where it's more like he finds mutants who are troubled or unstable and convinces them they're Gods like him and should help him rid the world of unworthy.
