So I'm definitely not a rich snob because my bank account is tragic and I'm working a minimum wage job before I go in debt this fall but I'm definitely a concert snob. I hate when people go to these tragic little concerts for $20 like hun it's obviously not going to be good if it's $20, I've charged more expensive meals at the drive thru than those tragic little tickets.

After seeing Gaga at the artRAVE I feel like I can only go to a high budget arena tour (inb4 the flamebait calling artRAVE low budget, bye you'll get reported).
Anyway, I think this is pretty bad because in college everyone listens to indie music that play in these god awful cramped venues. What if I'm invited to these frequent events? I need to lose my concert snobiness. Do you have a similar problem?

I love free concerts. One time, I went to this free concert which is a gathering of indie local artists and it's not so bad. Actually, it's an amazing experience.

I do have a similar problem to yours, but I'm starting to like some small pop girls like Marina, Tove, Charli, etc. that charge $20 for small theater shows.

If it's only $20 or so dollars and I'm going with a group of friends it's no big deal. You just get drunk and have a good time and dance in the crowd.

What? The price doesn't reflect the quality of the show. It reflects the starpower of the performer + demand for their tickets.

I've been to plenty of good concerts for ~$20. Best concert I ever went to was maybe $80, and last year I saw both No Doubt and Jay Z for free... all of which are significantly cheaper than the tickets I considered buying (but ultimately didn't, after I saw what a mess the tour was) for ArtRave.

I dont think the ticket price has much to do with the quality of the show. There are loads of high priced concerts where the headliner would rather be anywhere else and loads of cheap concerts where the headliner give their everything into their performances!

Paid about $25 for Azealia's concert and it was the best night of my life. And sold out.

Price doesn't matter THAT much, you can get tickets for cheap. I got RED Tour tickets for somewhere around $60 per person.. which shocked the **** out of me

Not everyone is a main pop artist or wants to be. Supporting artists who have smaller fanbases isn't being poor.

Some of the best shows I've gone to have been at 100-600 people sized venues and have cost $16-$22. I'm mainly going to watch someone perform after all, not a circus (which isn't to say I haven't enjoyed huge concerts too, just I have a special respect for people who manage to own a stage by themselves.)

Being counter indie (although most of the people I saw were signed to major labels and I wouldn't call any of them indie f) is fine, if that's who you are, but why does it bother you what other people enjoy? Make friends with similar taste too.

Umm... I guess if you're paying to see artists that you have no/little interest in then that's your problem? I paid $35 to see Marina and I had an amazing time because she's one of my favorite artists. Production value doesn't and shouldn't mean **** if you actually enjoy the music, you'll have a good time regardless. If you show up and think "why did I pay to see this I don't know any lyrics this isn't fun why am I the only one here not having fun" yeah it's not going to seem worth it to you.

I paid $5 once to see We Are Scientists and $25 to see Miguel, those were the best concerts I've been to. Why would price even matter?

I saw Tove Lo for $20. Best / most intimate show I've been too.

I went to see Jessie J at my friends uni (it was free and no one went) and OMG best time ever!!
