Despite coming off a monstrously successful comedy, receiving endless promotion, starring a world famous movie star, and being released in a period when sequels are more profitable than ever, Seth MacFarlane's "Ted 2" release has not been shaking up the box office like many expected.
On the flip side, "Trainwreck" is expected to open up with just as much, if not, even more money than Ted 2 despite it not starring any big time Hollywood actors, earning a major following and tons of hype following a money-making predecessor, or receiving as much promotion as the afore-mentioned sequel.
Why is this? Is Seth MacFarlane running himself dry amid box office disappointments following the original Ted? Is the public getting tired of unnecessary sequels of works they enjoy? And conversly, is Trainwreck doing well because it simply looks funny? Is Amy Schumer possibly the next contender to be a big-time Hollywood comedian up with the likes of Melissa McCarthy?
