I am like the only one at a funeral not crying. I will walk up to the person, linger a few seconds, I don't know what I am supposed to do, say a prayer? I just think to myself yep he's dead and walk away. My family figured it out also so whenever a pet needs to take that last trip to the vet guess who they call. Then I will come back to their house and everyone is crying over a dead cat. I honestly don't get it. When my dog dies I will just get a new dog.

Quote:
A person suffering from lack of empathy would be lacking self-worth, self-love and self-awareness. A psychopath is called so as he suffers from lack of empathy. He cannot and does not empathize with people around him. He is spurred to action only by his self-interest and in a sense is socially dysfunctional.
Empathy as such is essential for proper social and psychological functioning. A lack of empathy would make people abuse and exploit others in society.
