I really wish, though, that the movies resembled the games more than they do.
Apocalypse did resemble both the 2nd and 3rd games a lot, but
Resident Evil and
Extinction really don't resemble any of the games except for the fact that they had monsters that ate people because of the T-Virus made by the Umbrella Corporation, and had some similar characters. The movies kind of have a plot line of their own, which branches off from the games.
