See this is why sometimes I hate being part of ATRL.
It's her opinion. Why can't she have that opinion? She was brought up like that and believes in that.

however, she is also a human being who is allowed to have her own opinion. She doesnt say what marriage SHOULD be like.. she only gives her opinion on what marriage means to her.

OK ATRL
It seems that half my time in any argument on this forum is dealing with this response so let's get over it collectively.
Everyone has the right to freedom of speech. That one is entitled to express one's opinion does not bring with it exemption from criticism, dissension, or a demand for justification of said opinion.
When a person makes a statement, it is clearly their opinion. Stating that it is their opinion is redundant, and stating it as though it's a rebuttal towards any criticism of the opinion is moronic.
Every time you run into a thread like this to pointedly inform us that "it's their opinion!!111!

" you look like an idiot. Because guess what? Other people are giving
their opinions. It's how discourse works. Same goes when it's used for defending one's own opinion "yeesshh, what happened to freedom of speech? I'm just giving my opinion y'all

"
In future, try justifying your viewpoint with argument and reason, or forgo the opportunity to have your opinion taken seriously and respected and be quiet.
