If you’re a mega-fan of Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” trilogy like us, this is going to give you many sads. And probably a lot of anger, too.
According to Zoë Kravitz, she was denied an audition for the critically acclaimed and box office blockbuster final installment, “The Dark Knight Rises,” specifically due to her race.
Zoë is featured on the cover of NYLON Magazine’s August 2015 issue, and in the interview, she revealed that she was not permitted to go out for a small role in the final installment to the lauded “Batman” series because of the color of her skin.
“In the last ’Batman’ movie, they told me that I couldn’t get an audition for a small role they were casting because they weren’t ’going urban,'” she told the mag. “It was like, ’What does that have to do with anything?’ I have to play the role like, ’Yo, what’s up, Batman? What’s going on wit chu?'”
It is so sad. It was a small role on top of that, like what would be the problem in giving her a chance?
Anyways, with shows like Black-ish, Scandal, HTGWM, and Empire all smashing and being viable through many demos, black actors don't have to worry as much about being typecast or being denied roles.
Well it's good she didn't get a part, it's Batman not Boyz in Tha Hood. I'm sure she can try again for some other DC or marvel film as a villain or something.

Yeah sure, a movie probably better than the overrated Batman franchise.
It's funny how Lenny Kravitz's daughter is considered "too urban" for a small part in a movie, as if a black women can't play anything more than something sassy. Get real.

You should be ashamed of yourself to even think saying such a thing would be slightly appropriate. Check yourself.
