Slovenia's Court was supposed to decide if a referendum should happen or not after Parliament passed the marriage bill, but now they say they need a SECOND deliberation in September before reaching a verdict

First Merkel's spokesperson said marriage was not a priority for this Parliament and today Angie herself has said that she wants to beef up civil partnerships but basically it's a no-go for Germany. Es tut mir leid, guys

Looks like you'll be keeping Italy company in Western Europe

If the Swiss get 100,000 signatures in a year and a half they will force a referendum; the government will have to let them vote yes or no within a few months. So far they have collected 10,000 after only a few weeks

I think this is the same situation in my country. Even though we never had a referendum, our renewed 2010 Constitution introduced the ban for the first time in history and to change it there must be a referendum. Public opinion is shifting, more so in the biggest cities and among the most educated people, but things will be slow here with the strong influence of catholics and evangelicals all over the ****ing place, specially in rural and poor areas, where a god and their religion is everything some people have and homophobia is common practice.

Same here in Slovakia. We just had a referendum about a complete ban of gay rights

It didn't pass tho.

This is so weird because we shared a country with Czech Republic and they are so so so ahead of us in this.

There's buzz in Slovakia to pass civil partnerships, but nothing concrete for a while

If everything goes right, Czech Republic may even get ADOPTION through a court case

Even though you don't have any unions (yet), at least you are more accepting than Hungary is under the Fidesz party
