I didn't care for Ultraviolence (although a couple songs have grown on me); this has me interested in her again. Parts of the instrumental remind me of Madonna's Frozen. It feels more mysterious and intimate than the songs on Ultraviolence.
- her voice never sounded better
- the production is beautful
And I love the fact that this not the kind of music you would expect to hear from an album first. I like this a lot for the moment. And I hate it that she always plays with my expectations and succeeds.
Doesn't sound like she's changed at all. Not that she has to, but this does sound like it was taken off Ultraviolence for being too long and boring and not going anywhere.
I'm gonna wait for the rest of the album, but this taste doesn't do it for me.
