She will never match Born to Die's success again, so pretty much every album she releases, they'll call it a "flop", using this so called "logic". It was the fourth best selling female album of 2014, I'm sure she's fine. It wasn't a flop if you take into account the current industry's situation. Now, stay on topic or you can leave. OT: I don't think this is the lead single tbh, MTWBT is coming.

Exactly. She was fresh & new then. The whole world was like "Woah what is this", and ran to buy her album and sent her songs flying up the charts. People hadn't heard anything like it, nor seen the imagery that came along with the era, adopting various aspects of vintage pop culture and putting it into her cinematic music. People got used to her & the hype died down. I'm sure she'll still sell well though.
