I've never done it and I never will. For me personally, the only way intimacy is enjoyable is if I have a good relationship with that person.

Like I don't understand it, hooking up with a stranger is so dangerous. They could have all sorts of STD's, or they could just plain psychopathic. I guess it's each to ones own and some people could call me a prude so I'm not judging.

I need at least a basic emotional connection (like at least an acquaintance or sth) in order to do anything physical. I could never hook up with a random stranger.

There not for everybody, but the thing is there are time periods when I wasn't ready to be in a relationship or had the time to invest my emotions into a relationship. I don't think there is anything wrong with a hook up as long as both parties are safe and respect each other's boundaries.

Right now I'm in a situation where I'm moving across the province at the end of the month, I'm obviously not going to get into a relationship right now - so I don't see the issue in partaking in hook-ups in order to satisfy my needs.

They aren't my thing. I know myself well enough to know that if I were to reach the point of sex with someone, my mind would be at the point of a committed relationship and I would think of it as being something more than a hookup.

They're not for me. But, if they're your thing, go for it and be honest with your partner(s).
