Lifehack: When you notice or feel that you're about to get sick, like when you just know that tomorrow morning you'll be ill; shake it off in the night and you'll be fine. Works for me.

Must be completely dark - eliminate all light sources. Turn the fan on low so there's light noise and a cool breeze, even on cold nights. Think about stuff I want to achieve and how I'm gonna do it, and stuff.
If you can't sleep, do this method: close your eyes and try to sleep... but in your mind, from A to Z, try and give every letter of the alphabet a real-life city, making sure the first letter of the city aligns with the letter. For example, for 'A' you could nominate 'Adelaide'. Work your way to Z; you'll probably fall asleep before you reach Z. I used to do this when my mind was so distracted by other things.
I do the 4-7-8 thing. Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds, hold it in for 8 and then exhale through your mouth for 7 seconds. It takes a couple of cycles but it usually knocks me out.
1. I hold my breath a few times for 20 seconds. I usually can't remember what happens after that.
2. I deprive myself of sleep. If I only got 5-6 hours the previous night I'm guaranteed to fall asleep within 2 minutes
