The problem is that they're MUSIC TELEVISION whether they like it or not. They have a brand identity and they've lost the plot.

What they need to do is start focusing around music again. It doesn't have to be videos all of the time but they could broadcast their iconic archives and mix in new programming that follows hot music acts on social platforms. There are tons of options but they're ignoring them all.

I would ditch the crap, white trash reality shows they have. Bring back Celebrity Death Match with HD and new fights as well as air the old ones. Also, stop playing crap urban music in the mornings. I'm not here for that crap. A good mix of AC, POP/Hot AC and other genres would do them well.

I would keep some shows like Teen Wolf but air each non-music show at like 10pm.

I'm not going to watch the travel channel to see somebody knit.

I thought the early-mid (even towards the late) 2000's were good....they had hit reality shows like Real World, Road Rules, and the Challenges, and they still played a lot of music related stuff like Making the Video, TRL, MTV Diary, etc. People would watch more if there was more content related to music and artists they like....not random reality shows and scripted TV shows.
