I thought the early-mid (even towards the late) 2000's were good....they had hit reality shows like Real World, Road Rules, and the Challenges, and they still played a lot of music related stuff like Making the Video, TRL, MTV Diary, etc. People would watch more if there was more content related to music and artists they like....not random reality shows and scripted TV shows.
