IMO I think that the mutants, particularly the brotherhood, are more accepted by society than they had been in the original trilogy/timeline and aren't so focused on trying to gain equality as people aren't all hating on them. I also think that this all means that Stryker wouldn't have been able to do what he did in X2 therefore Jean doesn't die and come back as Pheonix, therefore Cyclops is still alive. That's my theory anyway
