Rih has never relied on promo. You guys act like people knew that her previous singles were in anticipation of an album. Especially with yearly releases? People had no idea where those songs were coming from.
I was GP during UNA and everything before. The only reason I knew UNA existed is because of the 777 tour. I had no idea when LOUD or TTT came out. Yet I literally purchased WMN? when it came out. Had no idea about the album.
Promo is what will increase her sales. Not a single that just happens and is never verbally connected to her album. And certainly not a surprise release.
To me, BBHMM could've led the album release, and Europe would've still come out in full force. They love her there and it's not because of random singles. The song is weird, controversial, and unexpected. The video is crazy. It was a mini hype machine all by itself. If she managed to restart that controversy I think she would be fine
If she's not going to do that, release another single and UTILIZE IT FULLY to promote the album
