I always had a maid growing up as it's custom in Latin countries for families to have maids, the houses are even built with an extra room where the maid sleeps. Ever since we moved to the US 10 years ago we haven't had one cause it's MUCH more expensive. I travel to Colombia once a year (where I'm at rn) and I'm not used to literally not having to do anything, it's weird.

We had one for a while but I don't know if I can consider her a maid since she basically would come to our house 3 times a week for 8 hours a day and just clean up the entire house and then leave. But we fired her cause she started slacking off
yup. But there's a lot of **** that goes on behind the scenes. Almost every maid steals **** from your house and my mom would always find out. Also if there's more than one maid, they try to fire one another.

It's a tradition in arabian countries I guess because I see maids all the time
Yes! I lived in Africa for a few years when I was small, and we had a housekeeper who came in every day from 8 to 5. She cleaned & maintained the whole house, ironed+washed all our clothes, took care of my younger siblings, occasionally made food, etc. She became family and was like my 2nd mom After 6 years we moved back to NL and had to leave her behind. It was tragic I miss ha.
OT: Yes, still do. My family is quite wealthy, but it's kind of because they all work so much so they don't have time to clean and stuff.
Since I went to college I had to get used to doing some stuff alone but they still give me the money to pay this woman to come to my place three times a week and clean up and stuff.
Not a legitimate one, just a lady that comes around every other month and cleans up around the house. Maybe stays for 2 hours each time. We don't even really need ha but for some reason my mom apparently thought we did.
After 6 years we moved back to NL and had to leave her behind. It was tragic
