Yeah well I don't even think she's 20 yet, and she doesn't utilize that register as much as Mariah does, but these whistles did MC justice, far more so than the autotuned studio whistles from Ari (no shade)

Well to give Mariah credit, her whistle register was that agile and flexible at 18/19 when she debuted with Vision of Love. But again, that's Mariah's signature style - her claim to fame. Very few singers are able to use the Whistle Register as well as her to the point where she can do runs, enunciate words, and harmonize in the register.

It's still impressive that Normani can hit those notes though!!!

I knew she could hit whistle for a while now. It's a shame she doesn't get to use it more. I highly suggest she start singing while jogging and running on the treadmill and get ideas ready for her debut solo song. She already has movements and camera friendly styling. She just needs a hot song and live performances (vocally) that can back it up. Normani has that kind of potential.

Edit: And these whistles remind me more of Mariah than any of Ariana's whistles to date. Nice clean and cut. She needs to work on making them effortless now.
