The Hive has made one good point though: having endless, run-of-the-mill chart-toppers isn't always the way to go. That's a good way to have temporary success, but not to remain timeless.
Look at Celine Dion. She's (allegedly?) the best selling female artist of all-time and has a hit count that could only be dreamt of, yet what songs of hers can anyone under the age of 35 name aside from "that Titanic song?"
