She said it wasn't supposed to be a single when she recorded it, while other songs she knew they would be released at some point. That wasn't the case for CFTS, but when summer came along they just decided to release that.
Yeah it wouldnt be a good marketing strategy to make a song about summer the first single. Its the same as making a Christmas album. You can only listen to it once a year
