I agree. Her Apple letter won her a lot of friends from basically the entire music industry globally. Politicians publicly cite her because she is popular and uncontroversial and politically neutral. She always supports other musicians, Rachel Platten, The Weeknd, Alessia Cara recently. In essence people like her because she treats them well when she meets them. Sam Smith has talked about how he encountered some people in the industry who were not very nice to him, but he only has gushing praise for Taylor. And that is just one example. Plus the GP likes someone who conducts themselves well and is notable for being very charitable.
With Katy, they were friends but subsequently fell out. Diplo was just trolling really. He can't say anything anymore now that Madonna has praised her and Taylor is now dating Calvin Harris.
There was a critic who wrote an unkind review of 1989 last year, and I see her on twitter this week begging for tickets to see Taylor perform at Metlife! ROFL
